The NBA has thrown a wrench in the Pistons' plans for an Isaiah Stewart bobblehead night on Friday. In an event that was scheduled back in September, Detroit planned to hand out Stewart bobbleheads at the game against the Dallas Mavericks.

The NBA announced on Friday that Detroit Pistons big man Isaiah Stewart was suspended without pay for one game after picking up his sixth flagrant foul this season, and the timing couldn't be much worse.

Pistons' Isaiah Stewart's 6th flagrant foul of season, a blow to Thomas Bryant, triggered automatic suspension. He was fined $50,000 for gestures.

Pistons owner Tom Gores submitted the bid Thursday and it was announced Friday. The group includes Sheila Ford Hamp and her husband, the principal owners of the Lions; the chief executive officer and chair of General Motors Company; Hall of Famer and former NBA rookie of the Year Grant Hill; Lions quarterback Jared Goff and his wife; and others.

Detroit Pistons owner Tom Gores, his wife Holly and a team of local investors all submitted a formal bid for the city to receive a franchise, according to the Detroit Free Press on Friday. The investor team includes a long list of local athletes and team executives,

Detroit wants to bring the WNBA back to the Motor City, with an expansion bid led by the Pistons and Lions owners and with support from Grant Hilll, Jared Goff and others.

The hostility was high, the physicality was intense, and the talk was nonstop in the Detroit Pistons 133-119 loss to the Indiana Pacers in Indianapolis on Wednesday night. Stewart delivered a hard shove to Thomas Bryant and was assessed a flagrant 2 and ejected in the second quarter.
