Shell veteran Paul Goodfellow’s selection as president, CEO and board member of Talos Energy comes after several months of tumult in the company’s C-suite.

A new strategic plan for the Houston-based offshore oil producer, which lost two leaders in six months, is a top priority for the new CEO.

Talos Energy Inc., Houston, appointed Paul Goodfellow as president, chief executive officer, and a member of the board of directors, effective Mar. 1, 2025. Goodfellow holds over 30 years of domestic and international experience in the oil and natural gas industry during a career starting in 1991 at Shell plc.

During his tenure at Shell, he held various senior executive roles, including leading the company’s global deepwater business in the US Gulf of Mexico, Brazil, West Africa, Malaysia, Mexico, the North Sea and other international areas. He also held positions overseeing Shell’s global drilling, completion and well intervention business.
